A neighborhood in lower Manhattan, Tribeca stretches from Canal Street, which is the southern border of SoHo, south to Vesey Street, which forms the northern border of  the Financial District, and from Broadway all the way west to the Hudson River. Cross the West Side Highway at Chambers to enjoy the lovely Hudson River Park and River Promenade, which stretches all the way from Battery Park City north to the Chelsea Piers and beyond.

Tribeca's name is a syllabic abbreviation of "Triangle Below Canal Street." TriBeCa, once an industrial district dominated by warehouses, has undergone a major revitalization. Warehouses were converted into loft apartments and new businesses emerged, making it into a mixed zone neighborhood.
