As Chairman and Senior Advisor of A.C. Lawrence & Company, Marc Lewis works with the company’s owners on firm strategy, utilizing his more than three decades of New York City real estate experience to initiate and maintain landlord relations, oversee new business development, website advancements and agent recruiting and supervise the rental managers.

From his start in 1973 as a young rental agent, when walkup studios rented for $150 and 20-unit Brownstones sold for $150,000, Marc honed his skills by renting and viewing tens of thousands of apartments.

He took an early interest in the backbone of the industry – the relationships. Marc formed relationships in the ‘70s that have grown to the current day, an era in which he now does business with the second -- or sometimes third -- generation of these real estate families.

In 1976, he went from agent to owner at LD Gardner Realty, where he became a very prominent broker, establishing the firm and his career for more than 30 years at "86th & Lex," which became Marc Lewis Realty in 1988. During this time Marc further developed his skills by purchasing, developing and selling many brownstones for his clients and himself, learning how to view the business from an owner’s point of view and becoming an expert broker, owner, landlord, buyer and seller.

When Marc sold a high-rise building in 2001 for $20 million, he decided it was time to get more involved in building and development brokerage, going on to sell many development sites, including the Legacy Condos at 157 East 84th Street for $15 million, and the Crescent Club Condos in Long Island City for $12 million.

In his current role at A.C. Lawrence, Marc is using all his 39 years of experience as an owner and broker of many firms, to collaborate on company strategy and further develop landlord relations and new business to achieve the company’s goal of "Fueling the Next Generation of Real Estate."
